Manager - Parkersburg
As a Promotions Director, you interact with every department within Results Radio. But primarily, you're concerned with sales and marketing. You will plan either sales promotions, which generate revenue, or programming promotions, which are aimed at increasing the audience’s “time spent listening” (TSL) or community engagement.
These promotions may include live broadcast events in public (remote broadcasts), on-air contests, DJ appearances, giveaways, and so on. You're expected to attend all promotional events to make sure everything goes smoothly. As a Promotions Director, you are a representative for the station, and must interact often with the public, various officials, and advertisers. So it is important that you keep your cool.
When you’re not handling promotional events, you might be writing press releases, composing proposals for future events, meeting with advertisers, or contacting vendors. You'll often be working on several projects at one time, so planning is critical. And because promotions are a team effort, it’s important to keep the staff and clients updated on your work.
The ideal Promotions Director will also provide on-air talent for one or more of Results Radio’s 6 stations.
Manage all stations’ promotional calendars to include ALL station activities:
Contest start and end dates; sales remotes and NTR events, and community events where Results Radio is involved.
Develop marketing/imaging strategies and advertising NTR for on-air and on the streets marketing to promote each of the Results Radio stations, working closely with Operations Manager and Local Sales Manager.
Create time-line for events from planning stage to execution to insure all aspects of event are being executed.
Share timeline with all department heads to keep everyone in the loop as to what is expected.
Manage all aspects of stations’ prizes and contesting both on air and on site promotional giveaways, and documenting all winners and prizes.
Planning and coordination of Major Book Promotions from inception to completion, working closely with the Operations Manager and Local Sales Manager to include scheduling and coordinating execution of on air contesting and on the street marketing.
